ESL One Cologne South-West pre-qualifier ended last night with four new teams securing slots at the European Finals later this month: Titan, mousesports, Epsilon and Planetkey Dynamics.

The South-Western pre-qualifier for ESL One Cologne featured 92 teams, mostly from France and Germany, but also a few from Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Austria, battling for four slots at European Finals.

After two days of playing, most of the favorites ended up making it through, with Titan, mousesports and Epsilon topping their parts of the bracket, while the only upset was best Portuguese teams k1ck losing to Safe Gaming 21-19 in Ro64.

Out of the three big teams only Richard "shox" Papillon & co. were properly tested by a Dutch squad featuring Kaj "kajsk1ng" van Staalduinen in the Ro16 when Epsilon had to come back from a 5-10 deficit to win 16-11, while Titan and mousesports stormed through their opposition.

The remaining fourth slot went to Planetkey Dynamics who played with the recently VAC banned Anil "cLy" Gülec. Their part of the bracket ended up being the most interesting, as they needed overtime to get past myKPV.de 21-16 in Ro16, and then had to come back from a one map deficit in the quarter-final against Timo "Spiidi" Richter's CS:GOetter, who previously knocked out mTw.

There are still two more pre-qualifiers with four slots each to be played, South-East on July 14-15th where the likes of Natus Vincere, ESC, dAT and USSR are expected to take part, and Open qualifier on July 22-23rd for everyone without a slot at that time.

The final qualifier, European Finals, will take place online on July 26-27th when the sixteen teams will battle for 6 slots at the $250,000 event.
