Danish team eSrael have won the ASUS Spring Cup, defeating the German team Alternate 2-0 in the final to qualify for the ASUS Final Battle of The Year and win cash as well as hardware prizes.
In what started as a massive online qualifier, the ASUS Spring Cup took place entirely online and concluded today with the playoffs. Six teams – three Russian, two Danish and one German team, were to duke it out for the two spots for ASUS Final Battle of The Year.
Virtus.pro and eSrael advanced directly to the semis with first place finishes in their groups. The Russians faced Alternate, who had just come off a 2-1 win over ELTZ. Virtus.pro saw the Germans continue plowing through the bracket, with a 2-1 victory.
The Danes met their countrymen from Anexis, as they had won 2-1 against es4x from Russia. The Danish encounter ended as times before when the two met, with eSrael winning it.
With Alternate and eSrael winning their semi-finals, both teams had secured a spot at the ASUS Final Battle of The Year, but still had to play the final to distribute prize money and hardware prizes.
With a 19-17 victory in overtime on first map de_inferno and 16-4 on de_tuscan, eSrael topped the spring season. In the third place decider Anexis came out on top against Virtus.pro with a 2-1 map score, winning 22:20 on third map de_train.
